A beautiful life is possible because, with God, all things are possible!

Is God With You?

“I AM That I AM” was the name by which God introduced himself to Moses.

In the last book of the Bible Jesus declares “I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last, who is, who was, and who is to come”!

To the Jews Jesus said “before Abraham was, I am.” Jesus claimed that he is the same God who had introduced to Moses as “I AM.”

Jesus is the Great I AM! The God who is timeless.

Timeless nature of God is very comforting to us because we are ruthlessly bound by time. We can never turn back the clock once it has moved. However, God brought himself in time by becoming human in Jesus Christ to set us free from the tyranny of time. Jesus is also known as “Immanuel” which means “God with us”! God has liberated us from the bondage of time so that we can be with God forever.

God has always intended to be with the humans. In fact God created man to be with him forever. It was man who broke up with God. But God did not give up. That’s why Jesus said “I have come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Adam was lost. You and I were lost. But Jesus came to find us.

When God sent Moses to Egypt, he promised to be with him. When God was upset with Israelites, he told Moses to take them to the Promised Land without his presence. Moses refused to go unless God promised to go with him. Finally God relented and promised to go with them.

When Moses died, God asked Joshua to take the Israelites into the promised the land. But Joshua was fearful and discouraged. Therefore God says to him, “I will be with you just like I was with Moses — I will neither fail you nor abandon you” (1:5, ISV).

When Joshua asks the leaders of Israel to be ready to cross over into the promised land, they wanted to make sure that God was with Joshua. They said “We will go wherever you send us. 17 We will listen and obey you in everything, just like we did with Moses. Only may the Lord your God be with you, just as he was with Moses” (1:16–17, ISV). They wanted to make sure about God being with them.

Throughout the Old Testament, God has always been with those who have wholeheartedly followed him. But in the New Testament, God has promised to dwell, as in a temple, in everyone who place their trust in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In his death, Jesus has destroyed the power of sin that brought the tyranny of death. In his resurrection, Jesus has destroyed the power of death and liberated us from the tyranny of time.

The Bible makes it clear that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone. Heaven and earth have been united in Christ, and also in all those who are in Christ.

Therefore, even in our daily mundane existence, we can experience God’s presence and help that enable us to live supernaturally in a natural world. What we cannot do, God can do for us. Jesus said “everything is possible for him who believes”, and gives the invitation to come to him in saying, “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened.” Are you weary and burdened? Ask Jesus to come into your life, and you will see him come and give you rest!

In Isaiah 41:10 (ISV) God says to Israel “Don’t be afraid, because I’m with you; don’t be anxious, because I am your God. I keep on strengthening you; I’m truly helping you. I’m surely upholding you with my victorious right hand.”
